Press Release
This isn’t just another mixtape. This isn’t any old .zip file. Hip-Hop Ain’t Dead It Lives In The North Volume 4 is a moment in time. Over 30 artists appear across 23 songs, all masterfully handled by DJ Dames Nellas who floods the market releasing Volume 4 only seven months after his Stylus Nominated Hip-Hop Ain’t Dead It Lives In The North Volume 3 broke ground.
Compiled from start to finish in less than 30 days, Volume 4 takes listeners on a journey to the many sides of hip-hop in Canada during late 2011. Introduced by a bold, poetic statement on hip-hop’s current state, the mixtape runs 23 records and features names like Drake, Kardinal Offishall, Shad, JD Era, Reema Major, Devon Tracey, Mayhem Morearty, JRDN and more than 30 others. Meek Mill, French Montana, DJ Jazzy Jeff and Freeway also play guest spots on some notable collaborations.
Comedian Trixx, who recently hosted Battle Of The Beatmakers as well as the 2011 Stylus DJ Awards, chimes in with a very outspoken interlude. The brutally honest sound bite continues a tradition of interludes on this mixtape series that aim to provoke conversation about the culture.
With executive production by It Lives In The North founder and co-owner Jonathon “Bizz”Brown, Volume 4 boasts a balanced blend of hip-hop’s best with hip hop’s next coming from Canada. The cover art was designed by STIRLING and special thanks go to Jesse Plunkett, Sunny Diamonds and Tim D.

New School Cool is Logik Dat Lad !!!
New School Cool is Logik Dat Lad’s debut EP. Available now for download at LogikDatLad.com, the project is fresh, playful and seductive. Somewhere between the poetic tendencies of Lupe Fiasco and the witty brashness of Wiz Khalifa is New School Cool and Logik Dat Lad.
“If I did this right, it’ll get you ready for a party, give you something to think about and at the same time, leave you wanting more from me,” says Logik, who recently performed in Vancouver at the west coast launch party for Hip Hop Ain’t Dead It Lives In The North.

Recorded over the last year, the majority of the EP is produced by Rich Kidd and quite simply sounds like a good time. The eclectic list of features also includes The Mad Poet, Rochelle Jordan, Flex, King Cut & Duch Dillinger.
Lead by 2010’s single “Break A Sweat,” each song on New School Cool competes for a rewind. The diversity of sounds collectively creates a vibrant, ambitious, energy that mirrors Logik’s personality. Logik invites you to take a chance on him as a new artist and experience his side of cool.

Hip Hop Canada Blesses the site with New @Logik_Dat_Lad Snippet
http://www.hiphopcanada.com/2011/04/logik-dat-lad-little-secret-snippet-audio/
Toronto, ON – Led by acoustic guitar, this stripped down sound is a new look forLogik Dat Lad. “Little Secret” hears Logik get his sexy on while rapping into the ear of his newest prize. Tempting her with provocative promises, he gets fresh with seductive lines like “The allure of your sex appeal got me yearning for extra feels/make your hands reach your heals, the main attraction I’ll give you thrills.”
Produced by Aequitus & Alex Lader, “Little Secrets” is a side of Logik he hinted at in his first single (Break A Sweat). Walking with a natural cadence that more so incites attention than demands it, he remains focused on catering to the sexually inclined members of his audience. “Ladies, I’ma show you how a man should be rapping to you on this song,” Logik says.
